Host, "Stick Talk"

My father and I took an aerial tour of Los Angeles in an AS-350 "A-Star" helicopter to celebrate my 14th birthday. I remember it like it was yesterday. The pilot made everything look effortless and I was mesmerized by the swagger he operated the aircraft with. I observed him as he brought us into a hover, pointed the nose south, and off we went. As soon as we started to accelerate I knew for an absolute fact that I was going to spend the rest of my life in the sky.

I am no different than anyone else; I went flying once and I fell in love. At 18 years old I left my home in Arcadia, CA to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ. As I moved my Bed, Bath, and Beyond haul in to my dorm room I though to myself "Today I move into a new town to start new life. My goal is to be a professional pilot when I move out." Four years later, I was a Certified Flight Instructor with a B.S. in Aeronautical Science and minor in Aviation Business Administration. I worked as a flight instructor at North Aire Aviation for a year following graduation and am currently waiting to start training on a light business jet for a Part 135 Charter operator in Orange County, CA. I have a particular passion for Business Aviation and am thrilled to be just starting my career in that niche of the industry.

When I was going through initial flight training I always had one huge gripe--there just was not enough pilots sharing what their life is REALLY like. I was always looking for more information and opportunities to get involved in the industry, but was never satisfied with the available content. After 6 months of working as an instructor, The Stick Talk Podcast was born. Stick Talk is an informative and entertaining podcast where I sit down with people I REALLY know and talk about their journeys, careers, advice, insights, and gripes about their office in the sky. There is a massive shortage of qualified pilots in the industry and I want to solve that issue. Being a pilot is the coolest job in  the world. It is challenging and requires unparalleled dedication, but reaps incredible rewards for those who are willing to to try.

If you've read this far, thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my story. I want to share my experiences and offer my insight to anyone who wants to be a pilot. I don't have all the answers, but I bet I can find someone that does and help point you in the right direction. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, don't hesitate to click the link to my email and reach out. Cheers!
